Job Description In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.The OpportunityBAE Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer Intern with a background in Supply Chain, Product Support, and/or Logistics Management for Summer 2025. Join our Product Support Team and become a member of a diverse, enthusiastic, and highly productive team, where each employee has the opportunity to grow their skills and work on rewarding projects. The selected intern will enable a Product Support Program comprising maintenance, support equipment, technical data, facilities, supply support disciplines across the US Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) enterprise in support of the US/UK Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Programs for both the COLUMBIA and DREADNOUGHT submarine classes. The US Navy's SSP Command keeps our nation safe with a credible sea-based nuclear deterrent. The selected candidate will work closely with numerous logistics and engineering teams within a digital engineering environment leveraging model-based systems engineering methodologies to perform the following functions:

Defining and incorporating Product Support Program processes across the SSP enterpriseContributing to the design and integration of Product Support-related systemsEnsuring the functionality and compatibility of Product Support-related systems in both test and live environmentsCreating Product Support Program documentationLeveraging Product Support data to enable data-driven decision-making through modeling and simulationRecommending and implementing process improvementsPreparing reports and presenting findings to management and government customerAbout the ProgramOur organization has supported SSP continually since the program's inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched SWS, a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the US nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation's nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of the COLUMBIA/DREADNOUGHT class, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The US Navy projects that this system will be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a truly unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.Who You Are

  • Enrolled student at an accredited 4-year college / university having completed a minimum of three years (Junior) by start of internship
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain & Logistics Management, Logistics, Systems Engineering, or another engineering- or logistics-related degree
  • Understanding of basic engineering, supply chain, and/or logistics principles
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially presentation skills with the customer as audience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others as a team player and collaborator across interdisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated self-starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proficiency with PCs and in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Familiarity with:
    • the disciplines within Product Support
    • the principles of Product Lifecyle Management
    • Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Inventory processes
    • Windchill, Magic Draw
    • Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) modeling and simulation
    • Sparing optimization modeling and simulation

    • Experience modeling systemsPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $65670Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
