Sector is seeking multiple leaders to manage its growing radio
frequency (RF) microwave and mixed signal electrical subsystem and
hardware design engineering team. These groups are responsible for
architecting, designing, verifying, and supporting existing and
future RF microwave and mixed signal assemblies and subsystems
across a variety of platforms. Group skill sets include trading
requirements, package and device trade studies and specification,
frequency planning, RF budgeting and chain analysis, board and
assembly design, electromagnetic simulation, data reduction and
analysis, design verification, and production support. There are
multiple positions open supporting different business areas. These
positions are located in Baltimore, MD. These positions will report
to the cognizant Hardware Section Lead within each business area
with an opening. These positions are dual role encompassing both
people and project/technical leadership. Roles and responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
- General team supervision, performance management, career
development, staffing, merit planning, engagement, employee rewards
and recognition, and resolving personnel issues
- Project planning and technical oversight for design activities
performed by the group
- Strategic hiring and employee skills development, labor
forecasting and execution through close collaboration with program
management, and balancing employee needs with business goals
- Manpower and resource assignment
- Technical risk assessment and mitigation
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring
- Analysis of design tools, processes, and technologies needed to
support strategic product plans
- Maintain and ensure application of design processes and
guidelines used by the department
- Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across
multiple work groups
- Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both
internal and external customers
- Lead or support department initiatives, technology roadmap
creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and IRAD project
leadership.Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Engineering or Technical degree
- Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience including
responsibility as an integrated product team or technical lead
- Basic understanding of RF electronics
- Able to work well within a team environment and adapt quickly
to change
- Demonstrated technical and people leadership of diverse and
inclusive teams
- Time management skills and a proven ability to follow through
with commitments
- Strong written, oral communication, and organizational
skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security
clearancePreferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple
projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
- Experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment
- Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as
technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader
- Experienced in RF hardware electrical design
- RF and mixed signal product design, fabrication, and
integration experience including, but not limited to, products in
high reliability military applications
- Experience with program management, functional management,
and/or customer management skills
- Experience with computational electromagnetics (CEM)
- Experience with developing RF modeling tools up to modeling
finite arrays in an installed environment
- Experience with business development activities
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraphThis position is
contingent upon obtaining and maintaining the required level of US
Security ClearanceSalary Range: $145,000 - $217,400The above salary
range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman
considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers
such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the
candidate's experience, education, skills and current market
conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance
coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid
