seeking an experienced Mid-Level Structural Engineer with an active
SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS in Washington,
DCResponsibilities: As a Mid-Level Structural Engineer, you will
play a vital role in providing engineering and technical support
for a wide range of shipbuilding activitiesYour expertise in
structural engineering will be essential in supporting concept
studies, feasibility studies, preliminary design, contract design,
detail design, construction activities, independent design reviews,
and shipboard installation supportAdditionally, you will contribute
to special studies related to ships, boats, craft, ship systems,
and shipboard equipment.--- Offer comprehensive engineering and
technical support throughout the shipbuilding process, ensuring the
successful execution of concept studies, feasibility studies, and
preliminary design activities with a focus on structural
integrity.
* Collaborate on contract design activities and detail design and
construction activities, leveraging your expertise in structural
engineering to optimize ship systems and ensure their stability and
safety.
* Conduct independent design reviews, meticulously assessing the
structural components and systems to meet industry standards and
regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical expertise for in-service ship design and
engineering activities, contributing to the continuous improvement
and safety of ships' structural integrity.
* Offer essential support during shipboard installation, ensuring
seamless integration and functionality of structural
components.
* Participate in special studies, conducting thorough analyses and
providing valuable insights to enhance shipbuilding processes and
structural designs.
Additional Duties:--- Utilize your knowledge of DoD/DoN procedures
and Policies (DoD 5000 process) to ensure compliance with
regulations and streamline project execution.
* Support projects involving Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and
Military Sealift Command procedures and processes, fostering
international collaboration and expanding market opportunities.
* Demonstrate expertise in advanced structural analysis tools and
software to optimize the design and performance of ship
structures.
* Conduct structural tests and evaluations to validate the
structural integrity and safety of ship systems and equipment.
Qualifications & Clearance Requirements: Minimum Skill Sets of
Qualified Candidates:--- Bachelor's degree in engineering, with a
focus on structural engineering.
* 3+ years of experience in DoD/Navy program management, Government
technical management, or Industry business management.
* Active Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS/JPAS.
Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates:--- Master's degree in
engineering, specializing in structural engineering.
* Possession of a Professional Engineer License, showcasing your
commitment to excellence in structural engineering.
* 5+ years of experience in DoD/Navy program management, Government
technical management, or Industry business management.
